Movie Review- Green Book
The movie Green Book demonstrates some of the social issues such as race and gender through the story of the friendship between a white and a black. The name "Green Book" comes from a traveler's direction that was designed for black, which includes many housing and dining information. The background of the story is in the 1960s when the generation of racial segregation. The story's main characters are a white man Tony and a black man Shirley. Tony is a driver working for Shirley, the story records how the two different races and different class people know and understand each other. At the beginning of the story, the two cups that tony threw away reveal that tony has a huge prejudice against people of color. However, Shirley earned tony's respect with her own talent. Tony learned a lot from Shirley, he has a bigger vision and no longer holds prejudice against black people.
The Green book won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2018. The movie contains different important social issues such as gender, class, and race. Every action that the character did with specific meaning, the actions completed the movie. I think it is the reason the movie won the Oscar award.
